A few days ago, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou Chemical Physics researcher Wang Qihua group of simple and efficient preparation of mesoporous silica composites with an aperture larger than 10 nm, can be widely used in catalysis, separation, biomedical and other fields. Related research has been published in the "nano scale".
 
 
Mesoporous silica material is a new type of inorganic material with controllable morphology and size, and has good application prospects in the fields of biomedicine, catalysis, separation and so on. Mesoporous silica materials prepared by traditional methods are much smaller than 10 nm, which is difficult to transport large volume substances such as protein and enzyme.
 
 
The research group, through the design of the structure of the silicon oxide framework, combined with the selective etching method, can be simple and efficient to prepare the mesoporous silica composite materials with tunable pore size in the range of 10~20 nm. Under the scanning electron microscope, it was observed that the material was in the cerebral cortex structure and had good single dispersion. By adjusting the amount of organic silane and etching time, the effective control of the pore size and the morphology of the material can be realized.
 
 
In the preparation of mesoporous silica, the researchers introduce the fluorescent groups, which makes the final product show good fluorescence properties, and expand the application prospects of the materials in the field of biology. The method provides a simple and efficient way for the large-scale preparation of mesoporous silica based materials, and it is expected to be applied in the fields of nano reactor, drug release system and biological imaging.
